SKY RANCH FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT TO

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF ROSEBUD

October 2021

It has been a decade since Sky Ranch for Boys, a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth, was closed and sold.  Proceeds from that sale, as well as donations from the Beverage Alcohol Industry, enabled the Foundation to continue our work by awarding grants to organizations with the same goal, helping these youth through a multitude of rehabilitative services.

Over the past 10 years the Foundation has awarded well over $4 million in grants. One such organization is the Mission, South Dakota-based Boys & Girls Club of Rosebud (rosebudbgc.org). Todd county was recently ranked by USA Today as the second worst place to live in the U.S., offering a most daunting challenge at the start.

Youth from the Rosebud Reservation are picked up daily from school and spend three hours at the club. A host of activities are offered with the main focus on academics-a holistic approach. Their belief is that their organization empowers youth to be the future leaders of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.

Foundation President, Ralph Aguera states, “All of us at the Foundation are proud to help this organization grow to serve the countless at-risk youth of Rosebud. We have seen their Clubs grow (now three locations), enabling more youth to be reached.”
